As your small business resource in Baton Rouge, LSBA has developed several publications, posters, and other items that are designed to help our members comply with various state and federal regulations. In addition to our regular edition of Issues, these informative publications are provided free to you as a LSBA member:
- A Small Business Advisor with topics such as Wage and Hour Laws, State Resource Contacts, Unemployment Compensation, Workers' Compensation, and Handling Worthless Checks
- LSBA's "All-In-One" Labor Law Poster-includes all required federal and state posters; one is provided free with each LSBA membership
- Family and Medical Leave Act Information and Poster (required only if your business has 50 or more employees)
In addition to the above publications, LSBA has access to all copies of state laws and regulations that affect your business. Please e-mail the LSBA member services department to request any of the above publications. Don't forget to include your LSBA Association member number and your address with your request.

Form W-11
To be eligible for the credits under the new Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act, employers must get a statement from each eligible new hire, certifying under penalties of perjury, that he or she was unemployed during the 60 days before beginning work or that he or she worked fewer than a total of 40 hours for an employer during the 60-fay period. Employers should use Form W-11 for this certification.
"EEO Is The Law" Supplement Poster
Businesses with 15 or more employees must post an "Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law" poster in a prominent place where employees can readily see it. This posting is included in the "All-in-One" poster that LSBA provided you when you renewed your membership. The federal government has updated this poster due to a new law prohibiting discrimination based on genetic information. In order to comply with the new posting requirement, businesses subject to this law need to post an "EEO is the Law" Supplement poster. Simply post the new "EEO is the Law" Supplement poster up next to your current "All-in-One" poster, and you will be in full compliance.

- $15 for members (plus tax & handling fees)
- $30 for non-members (plus tax & handling fees)
